Many customers are well-pleased with this particular ice cream maker. The machine is fully automatic. It makes 1-1/2 qt of ice cream, frozen yogurt or sorbet in an hour or less. No need for pre-freezing the bowl since the Ice Cream Maker has a built-in compressor freezer. Simply add the ingredients and set the timer. It has a spout which allow additional ingredients during the process.
A customer review shared some tips on how to create a perfect concoction. She suggested using custard bases to have smoother, creamier and richer results. Bases can be prepared the night before, allowing the mixture to blend its flavors and ensuring a cold base. The cold base, as the customer said, will rapidly freeze the ice cream and less likely to develop ice crystals.
While many customers are happy this ice cream maker, there are those who expressed their disappointments about the machine. One customer who said that she was a Cuisinart fan was terribly dissatisfied with the mixing paddle or as what she called as the churning device. The churning stops when the ice cream base begins to harden. The ice cream at the perimeter bowl freezes that it was impossible to churn while the middle part was soupy. Also troubled by the looseness the motor arm, another customer remedied it by securing the compressor motor vents with the use of an elastic strap with flat hooks. The motor reverse its direction when the mixture hardens. She simply removed the ice cream and stored it in the freezer. Nevertheless, she gave the machine a 5 star rating.
